We will examine the surface of your teeth for any signs of cavities and the condition of any existing fillings. Next, a periodontal exam will be performed to check that your gums are adhering to your teeth and see if there are any periodontal disease or bone loss.

Your teeth will then be carefully cleaned with an ultrasonic descaler and other tools to remove any tartar from your teeth.  Finally a light polish to complete the cleaning.

Dental cleanings should not be painful.  However, if you do feel pain or sensitivity in your teeth, be sure to let us now.  Early detection and prevention is much less painful.  Let us help you with discussing ways to protect your teeth and gums with brushing, flossing, diet, and habits.

Visiting a dentist every six months gives you the chance to talk with your dentist and receive answers for any questions you may have about your oral health.
