Dental Implants are artificial roots that serve as replacements for missing teeth.

People lose their teeth for many reasons such as an accident or illness.  The consequences of this may also negatively impact your quality of life.  You might not be able to eat many of the foods you enjoy or you are self-conscious about your appearance and may stop laughing and smiling.

Modern dentistry can no offer a variety of ways to restore damaged teeth or replace missing teeth.  Dental Implants may also be used to support dentures.  If you are missing one or more teeth, then you may be a candidate for dental implants and natural teeth restoration.

Not all patients are suitable candidates for dental implants.  Two of the most important factors in deciding if an implant will be a suitable option are

  • oral hygiene and gum health
  • good bone structure to be able to secure the implant onto

Since poor oral hygiene can lead to gum and bone loss, it is recommended that patients thinking about implants maintain good oral health.

If there is insufficient bone structure, we may refer you to a periodontist who may be able to use bone grafting or regeneration surgery to implant some additional bone before a dental implant.

We will be happy to consult with you on your options.
